Code of Conduct

TO BE SIGNED BY EVERY TEAM MEMBER and A PARENT OF EACH CHILD,
prior to the beginning of every season.

I understand that a condition of being a registered player of St Anne’s Avengers Basketball Club is that I am required to maintain a standard of behaviour and conduct that is in the best interest of the game and of the club.

I understand that as a parent / supporter of the club I will adhere to the code of conduct.

I declare that I will:

1.     Follow and adhere to the rules of the club as determined from time to time by the committee and relevant Basketball Association. 


2.     Agree that physical violence in any form against team mates, opposition players or other people is unacceptable, I will not participate in such behaviour. I will respect the views of opposition spectators and act in a civil manner both on the court and as a spectator off the court. 


3.     The use of profanity by players, coaches, managers or spectators is forbidden. 


4.     Always respect and demonstrate respect to Club Officials, Coaches, Parent/Guardians, Team mates, 
Referees and Opposing Teams. 


5.     Respect that the referees are always right and I will accept their decision at all times. 


6.     Display good sportsmanship when playing, training and as a spectator. Treat all players as you would like 
to be treated. Do not interfere with, bully or take advantage of any other player whether from your team 
or another. 


7.     Avoid criticism of the efforts of team mates, players, officials. Encourage and applaud the endeavour of 
all team players. 


8.     Parents need to respect the role of the 
coach and it is appreciated if parents support the team through cheering, as opposed to providing additional coaching.

9.     Players are required to attend training in order to be eligible for weekend game selection. 


10.  Players are required to attend all scheduled games for their team – unless a valid reason is provided, 
with maximum amount of notice given to the team manager. 


11.  Players are required to be on time for training sessions and arrive 10 minutes early to games. 


12.  I agree to pay the $90 membership fee per term ($180 per season), which covers court and referee fees as well as awards and photos at the end of the season.
